People have finally discovered that you don’t need a gym to get strong, fit and healthy. There is a new movement happening and it involves escaping the big box gyms with their underhanded contracts and endless membership fees.
With calisthenics you can get a full body working without any equipment except a bar that you’d find for free at a local park. You don’t have to pay endless monthly fees and then travel to a gym to exercise. Plus you have the benefit of being able to work out no matter where you live or travel.
One of the biggest benefits of body weight training is you are working with your own body weight and not a huge stack of metal plates. Your body was built to manage its own weight so it’s less likely that you will “try and lift too much.” It’s also unlikely that you’re going to drop a heavy weight on your foot or smash a finger while racking a dumbbell since you don’t need any of those heavy things.
Getting outside is healthy and good for you. Being in the sun means your skin is exposed to solar wave lengths, and this means your body can use the light to produce it’s needed vitamin D.
In our modern world most people have indoor jobs and they don’t get outside enough.
We always think it’s funny to see people go from a desk job inside to an air-conditioned gym inside where they walk on a treadmill and watch TV.
It’s much healthier to get outside and enjoy the fresh air while you do your workout. It’s good for your body and your mind.
